Urban Construction has been a
leader in pioneering safety mechanisms in both personnel and materials
hoisting since 1957. Safety has always been our
prime focus. All Stros machines have automatic safety devices which operate at any
time a hoist exceeds the rated speed or otherwise acts abnormally.
The safety device
is
designed to prevent the
hoist cage
from falling
in case of a drive unit
malfunction.
It
engages by its
pinion with the rack on the mast and is
activated if
the nominal
downward
speed of the hoist cage is exceeded.
Part of this device is
the limit switch which
opens the hoist safety circuit.
It is
possible to adjust
the device
according to the hoist operation
speed and braked mass
(the sum of
cage mass and load).
Stros hoists meets all requirements for the ISO 9001
Quality Management Standard. And not only do we meet and surpass all safety
criteria, our research and development teams in both Canada and the Czech
Republic are STILL developing new ideas for safety.
